Believe in yourself

We’re going to start today off simple. No ego, no pride, I’m just coming at you straight, like a shot of Jack.

We’re not promised anything in life, and every moment we get is on borrowed time. This could be your last moment. Fuck, this could be mine.

You get out of life what you believe you are worth, so tell me, when was the last time you asked yourself what you believe?

Don’t tell me you can’t find a good man when every other picture on your Instagram is about chivalry being dead, that all men are scum and how proud you are of yourself for being a “strong-ass bitch”.

What man worth anything would want to put up with your crazy shit?

The life that you live has been written in words that started as thoughts, that became beliefs, which lead to decisions, that finally became this: you, pen in hand, ready to write the next page in your story. Before that happens though, might I make a suggestion? Stand behind those fucking decisions.

That’s it. Make a fucking decision and then stick to it no matter how much you want to quit.

Don’t give it a shot for a few weeks and then tell people you tried.

Don’t sit around feeling sorry for yourself.

Don’t play the victim and tell everyone how hard it is.

Don’t waste time and re-cry already shed tears. Suck it up and damn it, show a little pride! No one has gotten the best of you unless that’s what you’ve decided.

I don’t need to write about this much longer, because every word from this point forward would just be me saying the same shit, but just in case you missed it, here’s the point.

If you don’t like your job, change it.

If you’re unhappy in a relationship, change it.

If something is amiss or not quite right in your life, wouldn’t now be the time to change it?

I’ve learned from religion the power of one word – faith, because those who have faith can create amazing things.

Believe in yourself almost as much as you doubt. Take a step forward, and then do it again, because every step forward helps to create momentum, and with momentum comes strength.

As you become stronger, you’ll be able to carry the weight of achievement that others would never dare to lift.

The weak will look and point. They’ll gossip and try to tear you down. They’ll see your achievements and talk about your luck, and how if they too were lucky, then they could have the same things. But you’re not lucky. You’re your own god created by faith and belief in yourself.
